NaNoWriMo 2009 – Day 8

Day 8 stats:

Min. Daily Average Word Count: 1,667

Word Count Goal: 2,500

Actual Word Count: 2,715

Daily Word Count Score (words in excess of min daily average): 1,048

Total Word Count Score: 15,100

Chapters complete: 6

Managed to get back ahead but struggling with plot. I’ve heard it’s easy to get bogged down in act two, and I’m in it up to my neck. Or, to be more accurate, the plot is moving in different directions, and the pace is rapidly diverging from what I had sketched out in my mind. Not necessarily bad things if I were taking the time to mull over the plot before plunging blindly ahead, ignoring the trail of abandoned sub-plots and continuity issues. But there is no looking back in NaNoWriMo, no time for any serious re-writes.
